The Archive

The Alderley Archive ranges widely and is constantly expanding. You will be able to search it for information on all the Themes and many other topics.

Included in the Alderley Archive are:

  • Maps, old and new.
  • GIS surveys carried out by the Alderley Edge Landscape Project.
  • Pictures of Alderley, including old photographs we have collected and new images that we have taken specially. These include many aerial photographs.
  • Measured architectural drawings of important buildings around Alderley Edge.
  • Archaeological, geological and natural history reports.
  • Transcriptions of documents held in both public and private collections.
  • Over two hundred hours of recorded interviews. You may hear selections from this oral archive on the web and print off transcripts of the complete interview.
  • A catalogue of material held here and elsewhere, so that even if we do not have a particular source you can discover where it is kept.
